On Monday I went to see and take photos of Kaitee Page and her band at Bullet Bar in Kentish Town, London. I needed the practice after not shooting a gig since the end of November so this was a good start to the year.
The stage was pretty small and stuck in the corner of the bar but the worst thing was the pillar right in the middle of it preventing much movement from the band onstage. The lighting would have been good if it wasn’t for the single bright spot lamp on the drummer. It made the drummer easy to photograph but put the rest of the band in shadow meaning the flash had to come into play.
Performance wise it was very good. It didnt look promising before hand though… the equipment supplied by the venue was old and damaged. Credit to the sound guy for sorting it out! The music was as good live as it is on Myspace so if you like what you hear online then you should try and get to a gig before fame strikes! The set seemed pretty short, maybe 7 or so tracks and they were over before I knew it.
